A Letter To My Future Child

Hi Honey, Pal, Baby Boy, Baby Girl, Buddy, or whatever nickname you will have from me,

I am (trying to be) patiently waiting to meet you. You’re not even in my belly yet, but I still think about you all of the time. I dream about you. I wonder what you will be like. What color hair will you have? Will you have your dads brown eyes or my green eyes? What will your first word be? How old will you be when you lose your first tooth? Will you be quiet? Will you be a daredevil? Are you going to like superheroes like your brothers, Nick and Will? ( I am 99% sure the answer to that question is going to be yes, even if you’re a girl.) Your brothers are going to teach you so much. They are patiently waiting to meet you too! Will you want to play sports? What kind of hobbies will you have? What are you going to be when you grow up?

I wonder these things all of the time.

I may not know any of these answers, just like I do not know when God is going to make me your mommy. What I do know is, that I already love you so incredibly much. I’ve never wanted anything more than to be your mommy. You already mean the world to Daddy and I.

We have been praying, wishing and hoping for you for two years now. These past two years have seemed very long. The thing that I hold on to is that it is going to be worth the wait. Because in the end, I am going to have YOU. I am meant to be your mommy, and that is what keeps me going.

I love you, and I cannot wait to show you this one day!
